named John of Copper color he being twenty one years old on or about the twenty second of December (1858) eighteen hundred and fifty eight to serve as a slave until he is twenty five years old and no longer which negro is a bona fide slave for the above named time the right and title of said slave I forever warrant and defend against all claim or claims of any kind whatsoever for the period above named mentioned In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this eighth day of February eighteen hundred and fifty nine Witness Thomas Rowles (seal) Isaac Ridgely Walter Dorsey (seal) Howard County State of Maryland SC.
