Deed of Manumission
              to
Oliver Dorsey
 Know all men by these presents.  That I
Eliza B McNew of Howard County State of
Maryland do hereby manumit and set free my
negro man Oliver Dorsey Complexion dark mulato
height six feet aged about 41 or 42) his
freedom to commence from the first day of January one thousand
eight hundred and sixty      Witness my hand and seal this
ninth day of March one thousand eight hundred and fifty
nine

On the ninth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and fifty nine personally appeared before me one of
