State of Maryland Howard County To wit:
             I hereby certify that on this Twelfth day of October in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty eight personally
appeared before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace for Howard
County aforesaid Samuel Chase and Ann Chase his wife and
acknowledged the foregoing bill of sale to be their act and at the
same time also appeared John Poulton and made oath in due
form of Law that the consideration in the said bill of sale is true
and bona fida as therein set forth

 Incorporation of the
Sagonan Manufacting Co
This is to certify that under and by virtue of
an act of the General assembly of Maryland
                                 passed the twenty ninth day of May 1852 entitled an act to authorise
                                 the formation of corporation for manufacturing purposes
                                 We the undersigned have this day associated under the corporate
                                 name and style of the Sago^n^an Manufactoring Company of Howard
                                 County.  The object of this association is the manufactoring and
                                 sale of cotton wool and other yarne and cloths.  The capital
                                 stock of the association shall be one hundred and twenty five
                                 thousand dollars divided into twelve hundred and fifty
                                 shares of one hundred dollars each.  The undersigned five in
                                 number shall act as directors and shall manage the concerns
                                 for the first year.  This association is organised for forty years
                                 and shall carry on its operations in Howard County Maryland
                                          Witness our hands and seals at Alberton Howard County
