         Bond as
   Treasurer
 Know all men by these presents that we
Littleton Macklin, William Welling, James
Walters, Philip Smallwood, Samuel Cissel and
Thomas M Crea all of Howard County and the
State of Maryland are held and firmly bound unto the State of
Maryland in the full and just sum of twenty five thousand
current money to be paid to the said state or its certain attorney
or assigns to which payment well and truly to be made and done
we bind ourselves and each of us our and each of our heirs executors
and administrators in the whole and for the whole jointly
and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals
and dated the eighth day of November eighteen hundred and
fifty eight
             Now the condition of the above obligation is such that
if the above bounden Littleton Macklin shall faithfully
execute his office of Treasurer of Howard County and
well and truly account for and pay over to the commissioners
of Howard County the several sums of money which he shall
receive or be accountable for at such times as the law directs
then this obligation to be null and void otherwise to
remain in full force and virtue
