in and for the city of Baltimore aforesaid personally appeared Edwin
H. Williams and acknowledged the aforegoing Bill of sale to be his act
and now at the same time before ^me^ personally appeared also R. H. Carr one
of the firm of R. H. Carr and Bro the within named barganee and
made oath in due form of Law that the consideration set forth in the
above Bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth

    I hereby certify that John Showacre Esquire before whom the annexed
acknowledgment and affidavit were made and who has thereto subscribed
his name was at the time of so doing a Justice of the Peace of
the state of Maryland in and for the city of Baltimore duly commissioned
and sworn

                              affix the seal of the superior Court of Baltimore City

Casper Wenner
 This Mortgage made by Daniel Schalke
Witnesseth That I Daniel Schalke of Howard
County in the state of Maryland being now
indebted to Casper Wenner of Anne Arundel
                            County in the State aforesaid in the sum of one hundred and forty
                            dollars with interest from this date for and in consideration thereof
                            do hereby bargain and sell to the said Casper Wenner the
                            following property namely; one dark brown mule one sorrel
                            mule, Three milch cows, two heifers, now in the possession of the
                            said Daniel Schalke.  Provided that if I the said Daniel
                            Schalke, shall pay to the said Caper Wenner the sum of one
                            hundred and forty dollars with interest thereon (for which
                            sum I have passed my note of hand endorsed by the George
                            Miller) on or before the twenty fifth day of September Eighteen
                            hundred and fifty nine then these presents shall be void
                            otherwise remain in full force and virtue
                               Witness my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of September
                            in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and fifty eight
