& fifty eight then these presents shall be null and void
In Witness Whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this
sixth day of July Eighteen hundred and fifty eight

State of Maryland   Howard County to wit:
    I hereby certify that on this sixth day of July 1858 before
me a Justice of the peace within and for the County and
State aforesaid personally appeared John M Warfield and
acknowledged the aforegoing bill of sale to be his act and at the
same time personally appeared Henry W Warfield and made
Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration
named in the said bill of sale is true and bona fide as
therein set forth.   Acknowledged and sworn before me

Received to be recorded on the 6th day of July 1858 at 1½ oclk P.M.

   Bill of Sale to
A. H. Hobbs and
Henry W. Warfield
I John M Warfield of Howard County
Maryland being now indebted to Alexander H.
Hobbs and Henry W. Warfield Trustee in the sum
of four hundred and sixty dollars with interest from
the ^date^ hereof being the balance of my first instalment
on the purchase of real estate in consideration thereof do hereby bargain
& sell to the said Hobbs and Warfield the following property
to wit one bay mare one brown horse one grey mare one carriage
and harness one negro man named Jack; a slave for life about
twenty six years of age one wagon and one cart.   Provided that
if I pay to the said Alexander H. Hobbs and Henry W. Warfield
the said sum of four hundred and sixty dollars & interest on or
before the first day of November next then these presents shall
be void.   Witness my hand and seal this twentieth day of
July eighteen hundred and fifty eight

          I hereby certify that on this 20.th day of July 1858 before
me a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland personally appeared
John M. Warfield and acknowledged the aforegoing mortgage
to be his act and at the same time appeared Henry W.
Warfield one of the mortgages and made oath on the Holy
Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration mentioned
in the within mortgage as therein set forth
