State of Maryland Howard County to wit:
    I hereby certify that on this 14th day of May 1858 before me
the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state and County
aforesaid personally appeared Peter Voltz and acknowledged
the foregoing Bill of Sale to be his act: and at the same time
before me also appeared Deborah Disney and made oath in
due form of law that the Consideration in the said Bill of
Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth

Seth Reed
 Know all men by these presents That Whereas
I Samuel P Reed of Howard County State of
Maryland am indebted to seth Reed of
Baltimore County State of Maryland in the
Sum of one hundred and thirty nine dollars and Seventy five
cents for his endorsement on my promissory note of 29th of July
1857 (twenty ninth day of July eighteen hundred and fifty seven)
and payable three months after date given to William Robinson
and which note is now owned by the said Robinson the same
never having been paid and I am also indebted to the said Seth
Reed in the further Sum of Two hundred dollars and ninety
Cents for cash which the said Seth Reed loaned me in the year
Eighteen hundred and fifty six and eighteen hundred and fifty
seven and whereas for the purpose of securing the said seth Reed
for his endorsement on the above named note and the cash loaned
me.  I have agreed to execute these presents.   Now Know ye
that I the said Samuel P. Reed for and in Consideration of the
premises and of the endorsement of the above named note and the
loan of ^the^ Cash above named the endorsement of which and the
receipt of the Cash I do hereby acknowledge have given granted
bargained and sold and by these presents do give grant
bargain and sell unto the said Seth Reed the following personal
property that is to say:  one cow, two heifers nine hogs thirteen
sheep, one wagon, one cart, two ploughs, one cultivator two double
shovel ploughs, two single shovel ploughs one harrow, one
Cutting Box, and all my other farming Utensils with all
my Wagon Cart & Plough Gears and Harness and one Riding
Saddle and three Bridles and also all of my household and
Kitchen Furniture and cooking Utensils and my growing
