300 Crops. To Have and To Hold to him the said seth Reed in full property. Provided nevertheless and these present are upon condition that if the said Samuel P Reed shall well and truly pay the promissory note endorsed by the said Seth Reed and also the cash loaned by the said Seth Reed to the said Samuel P Reed within one year from the date hereof with interest on the same then and in that case these presents and every matter and thing therein contained shall become and be null and void and of no effect in Law and in Equity In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this first day of June in the year eighteen hundred and fifty eight Signed sealed and delivered Samuel P. Reed (seal) in the presence of the words "None hogs Thirteen sheep" in the Twenty eighth line from the top of the first page interlined before signing Daniel E. myers State of Maryland Baltimore City Sct Be it remembered that on this first day of June in the year eighteen hundred and fifty eight before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state aforesaid and for the City aforesaid personally appeared Samuel P Reed the party grantor to the within instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed and I do also Certify that I am Satisfied of my own Knowledge that the person acknowledging as aforesaid is the person named and described as and professing to be the party grantor in the within Instrument of writing. And at the same time personally appeared before me the Justice taking the said acknowledgment Seth Reed. Known to me to be the Mortgagee or grantee named in the within instrument of writing Mortgage or Bill of Sale and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the Consideration set forth in the said deed of Mortgage or Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth Acknowledged and sworn to before and certified by Danl E myers State of Maryland Baltimore City Sct I hereby certify that Daniel E myers Esquire before whom the annexed acknowledgment & affidavit were made and who has thereto subscribed his name was at the time of so doing a Justice of the peace of the state of maryland in and for the city of Baltimore duly commissioned & sworn |
