                            Howard County To wit:
    I hereby certify that on this nineteenth day of May
eighteen hundred and fifty eight before me a Justice of
the peace of the said state in and for Howard County personally
appeared Nicholas Owens and Mary V. his wife and
did each acknowledge the foregoing deed of manumission
to be their respective act

 I Moses G Hindes of Baltimore
City & State of Maryland in consideration
of Four Hundred & fifty Dollars
paid me by Allen Thomas of
                         Howard County do hereby bargan & sell unto the said Allen
                         Thomas the following property to wit a negro woman
                         named Eliza Snowden a Bright mulatto to serve as a
                         Slave until the first day of January Eighteen hundred
                         and seventy when the said negro Eliza is to be free and discharged
                         from all manner of servitude which by reference
                         to a Bill of Sale from William Norris Executor of John
                         H Lawson late of Frederick county decd to Alpheus
                         W marriott executed on the 14th day of May Eighteen
                         Hundred & forty nine and recorded in Liber W B T No 9
                         Folio 140 one of the Land records of Frederick County will
                         more fully appear.   Witness our hands and seals this day
                         of 22d may Eighteen hundred & Fifty Eight

                                     State of Maryland Baltimore City to wit:
                                          I Hereby certify That on this 22 day of May 1858
                         before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the state
                         of Maryland in & for Baltimore City personally appears
                         Moses G. Hindes Seller & Allen Thomas Purchaser and
                         acknowledged the foregoing bill of sale to be their act and
                         deed.  And now at the same time before me personally appears
                         also Allen Thomas the within named baganee &
                         made Oath in due form of law that the consideration
                         set forth in the within bill of sale is true & bona fide
                         as therein set forth
                                                  Acknowledged before Wm H. Hayward J. P.
