295 his said misstress and honestly and orderly towards the rest of the family of the said Ann Hunt And the said Ann Hunt on her part doth hereby promise covenant and agree to teach and instruct the said apprentice or cause him to be taught and instructed to read and write and the art trade or calling of a house and out door Servant by the best means she can if the said apprentice be capable learning the same and the said Ann Hunt doth further agree to pay unto the said Mary Gassaway the sum of fifty dollars to be paid to her the said Mary Gassaway in yearly installments as follows to wit forty five dollars on the day of the date hereof and the sum of five dollars on the twenty sixth day of June eighteen hundred and fifty nine In Testimony Whereof the said Ann Hunt and Mary Gassaway have hereunto set their hands and Seals the day and year above written Test Ann Hunt (seal) Wm A Loder her Mary X Gassaway (seal) mark State of Maryland Howard County to wit: On this first day of May 1858 before the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for the state and county aforesaid personally appeared Ann Hunt and Mary Gassaway and acknowledged the above Indenture to be their respective act Acknowledged before W.m A Loder J.P. Rec.d on the day of the date of the aforegoing Indenture the sum of forty five dollars the consideration therein mentioned to be paid by Ann Hunt to me in full for the first installment therein expressed Witness present her Wm A.
