251 County brought before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace in and for the said County this twentieth day of October in the year 1857 as a stray trespassing upon his enclosures a dark brown horse about five years old about fifteen and a half hands high with a small white spot on the forehead no other white much scarred and barefooted switch tail and heavy mane racks and trots Given under my hand W.m A. Loder J.P. To W.m H. Worthington Clk of Howard County Court Filed to be recorded on the 20.th day of October 1857 same day recorded & Examined per W. H. Worthington Clk
Reuben M. Dorsey of the County & State aforesaid do hereby bargain and sell to the said Reuben M. Dorsey the following property to wit: twelve Bedsteads & bedding forty eight chairs, six Rocking Chairs, three Bureaus, two hundred yards of straw matting, six looking glasses, a lot of Kitchen furniture, four tables, one Sofa, and one new rose wood, six and three quarter Octave Piano Witness my hand and seal this nineteenth day of October in the year Eighteen hundred and fifty seven Test: J. S. Strawbridge (seal) Geo W. Sands State of Maryland Howard County to wit: I hereby Certify that on this nineteenth day of October in the year Eighteen hundred and fifty seven personally appeared Isaac S. Strawbridge before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace for Howard County aforesaid and acknowledged the foregoing Bill of Sale to be his act; and hath also sworn on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration therein set forth is just and true W.m Allen J.P. The name of J.S. Strawbridge is interlined between the second and third lines of acknowledgment Rec.d to be recorded on the 27.th day of October 1857 same day recorded & Exam.d per W. H.
