  Bill of Sale
        to
John H. B. Latrobe
  Trustee
Know all men by these presents
that I Asbury Fisher of Howard
County in the State of Maryland
have this day sold to John H.
B. Latrobe Trustee a negro girl
slave for life aged about twenty
one years dark complexion named Charlotte Clarke and
now in the possession of Mrs John R. D. Thomas the wife
of John R. D. Thomas of said County for nine hundred dollars
       To have and to hold the said negro slave for the uses
and purposes which are particularly set forth in a deed
form John R. D. Thomas and wife to the said Latrobe dated
on the third day of March 1848 and recorded in the records
of Baltimore County in Liber A. W. B. N.o 392 folios 353 &c
and nine other      In testimony whereof I have hereto
set my hand and seal this thirteenth day of April 1857

    delivered in presence of               Asbury Fisher      (Seal)

          Received to be recorded on the 15.th day of April 1857

James S. Gary
  Bill of Sale
          to
Thomas Rowles
Know all men by these presents
that I James S. Gary of Howard
County and State of Maryland for
and in consideration of the sum of
four hundred dollars lawfull
money of the United States in hand paid by Thomas Rowles
of Howard County and State aforesaid which is in full
payment of my negro slave named Caroline of Copper
Colour she being fourteen years old on or about the first
day of December 1850 to serve untill she is thirty five years
old and then to be free as now fully appears on reference
to the last will and testament of Thomas John Bowie now
on Record in the Office of the Register of wills of Montgomery
County Maryland and also by order of the Orphans Court
of Howard County and State of maryland where she was
ordered and adjudged by said Court that the said Caroline
is to serve one year longer that is untill the first day of
December 1872 Eighteen hundred and seventy two as by
reference to said order passed on the 17.th day of April 1853
which negro is a bona fide slave for the above named time
