191 and bonafide as therein set forth several interlineations ^& names^ previous to acknowledgement C W Maught Rec.d to be recorded on the 21st of October 1856 same day recorded and examined per W.m H Worthington clerk
State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars paid to the said Enock S. Brown by the said David C. Fulton the said Enock S. Brown hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said David C. Fulton his executors administrators & assigns his negro Boy George Edwards for and during the period of thirty years from the twenty sixth day of December next (1856) To Have and To Hold the said Negro Boy George Edward for and during the period above mentioned unto the said David C. Fulton his executors administrators and assigns that he will warrant and defend the said negro Boy George Edward during the period and term for which he is hereby sold and conveyed to the said David C. Fulton his heirs executors administrators and assigns against the lawful claim or demand of all and every person whatsoever And the said Enock S. Brown doth hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set him the said Negro Boy who is of hte age of five years on the twenty sixth day of December Eighteen hundred and fifty six and who will be of the age of thirty five years on the twenty sixth day of December Eighteen hundred and eighty six and does declare said Negro Boy George Edward to be free manumitted and released from all manner of servitude or service to him his executors administrators and assigns from and after the term mentioned of the service of thirty years from the twenty sixth day of December Eighteen hundred and fifty six In Witness whereof the said Enock S Brown and the said David C Fulton have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first herein above written Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of |
