181 State of Maryland Howard county To wit: Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that on this thirty first day of may eighteen hundred and fifty six before the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace of the state of Maryland in and for the county aforesaid personally appeared John W. Shorts and Remus R. Hobbs they being known by me to be the persons who are the parties to the aforegoing instrument of writing and whose proper signatures are thereto subscribed and severally acknowledged the said instrument of writing to be their respective act and deed. In testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name on the date aforesaid Alfred C. Hearn Received to be recorded on the 25.th day of June 1856 same day recorded and examined per W. H. Worthingon clk
one of the justices of the Peace in and for the said county this 27.th day of June in the year 1856 a a stray or brown mare mule age unknown of large size a scar over the left eye a small white spot on the right side of the neck just in front of the withers galled by the collar and shod all round Given under my hand this 27.th day of June 1856 Jno Z. Worthington J. P. To W. H. Worthington clerk of Howard county court The owner of the above described mule is requested to come forward prove property pay charges and take her away Benjamin Cook Living at Elkridge Landing F.d to be recorded on the 27.th day of June 1856 same day recorded and examined per W.
