to take effect when the said Daniel shall attain the age of twenty eight years reserving to his wife Mrs Margaret Booth in the mean time the services of the said negro boy Daniel And whereas also the said Daniel is eleven years of age on the 1.st of October 1856 and from that time has seventeen years to serve the said Margaret. Know all men therefore by these presents that the said Margaret Booth for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and seventy five dollars current money to her in hand paid by Robert Fowler of the City of Baltimore in the State of Maryland who is now and for more than one year last passed has been a bona fide resident of the State of Maryland the receipt whereof she doth hereby acknowledge hath bargained sold assigns and transferred and by these presents doth bargain sell assign and transfer unto the said Robert Fowler his executors administrators and assigns. All her the said Margaret Booths right and interest in and to the said negro boy Daniel for and during the terms of servitude to have served as aforesaid by the last will and testament of the said William Booth that is to say for the term of seventeen years from the 1.st day of October Eighteen hundred and fifty six In Witness whereof the said Margaret Booth and the said Robert Fowler have hereunto subscribed their names and affixed their seals this 15.th day of September in the year Eighteen hundred and fifty six Witness Margaret Booth (seal) Jn.o Booth Robt Fowler (seal) J Cook State of Maryland Washington County to wit: Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that on this 15.th day of September in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and fifty six before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for Washington County aforesaid personally appear Mrs Margaret Booth and Robert Fowler they being known to me of my own ^personal^ knowledge to be the persons who are named and described as and professing to be the said writing the foregoing Bill of Sale and doth acknowledge the said writing to be their act and deed In testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name the day and year aforesaid J.
