State of Maryland Howard county sct
    Be it remembered and it is hereby certified
that on this twenty eight  day of February
in the year one thousand eight hundred
and fifty six before the subscriber a justice
of the Peace in and for for Howard
county aforesaid personally appear Caleb
Dorsey of Caleb and George R. Gaither Junior
parties to the foregoing instrument of
writing and do severally acknowledge
the same to be their respective act and
deed and at the same time before me
the said George R. Gaither Junior the bargainee
within Named Makes oath in
due form of law that the consideration
set forth in the foregoing bill of sale is
true and bona fide as therein set forth
In testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe
my name on the day and year
aforesaid                  McLane Brown
Received to be recorded on the 22.d day
of March 1856 at 11 o'clock A. M. same
day recorded and examined per

presents that I James
G. Hardy of Howard
county and state of
Maryland for and in consideration of the
sum of one hundred dollars lawfull
money of the united states in hand paid
by Tolbott G. Shipley of the same county
and state aforesaid at or before the
sealing & delivery of these presents the
receit whereof is hereby acknowledged
Have granted bargained and sold and
by these presents do grant bargain and
sell unto the said Tolbott G. Shipley
his heirs exutors administrators and
assigns all the following property to
wit one bay mare ant Three cows one
a brindle one or red one a black &
white heiffer.  To Have and To Hold
the said property to the said Tolbott
