157 grant bargain and sell unto the said William Mathews his executors administrators & assigns one wagon which said wagon is now in the possession of the said John W. shorts. To Have & To Hold all and singular the said Wagon above bargained and sold or Mentioned & intended so to be to the said W.m Mathews his executors administrators & assigns forever; and I the said John W. shorts for myself & my heirs the said Wagon unto the said W.m Mathews his heirs & assigns against me the said Jno W. shorts my executors & administrators & against all and every other person or persons shall & will warrant & forever defend. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Twelveth day of March eighteen hundred & fifty six signed sealed and delivered his in the presence of me, the word John W. x shorts (seal) "dollars" being interlined mark Reuben Warfield State of maryland Howard county to wit: on this 12.th day of March eighteen hundred and fifty six before me the subscriber a justice of the Peace in and for said county personally appeared John W. shorts he being known by me to be the person who is named and described as the party to the written bill of sale or Instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed; and at the same time appeared William Mathews the grantee therein named and Made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration mentioned in said Bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth acknowledged and sworn before me Reuben Warfield Received to be recorded on the 20.th day of March 1856 same day recorded and examined per W.
