136 and state of maryland for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred and fifty seven dollars & forty five cents lawful money of the united states in hand paid by silas W. Conn at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have granted bargained and sold and by these presents Do grant bargain and sell unto the said Silas W. Conn his executors administrators and assigns. All the goods household stuff implements and furniture particularly mentioned expressed and contained in the schedule annexed to a Bill of sale from said James M.cGowan to one John R. Brown bearing date the nineteenth day of march eighteen hundred and fifty three and duly executed acknowledged and recorded among the chattels records of Howard county in Liber E. P. H. No 2 folio 468 &c as by reference thereto will more fully and at large appear all and singular which said goods and chattels are now remaining standing and being in a certain tenement situate in Ellicotts Mills and now in the occupation of the said James M.cGowan. To Have and To Hold the said described goods household stuff implements and furniture and other the premises all and singular to the said Silas W. Conn his executors administrators and assigns forever; and I the said James ^McGowan^ for myself my heirs executors and administrators the said goods and chattels unto the said Silas ^W.^ Conn his executors administrators and assigns ^against^ me the said James McGowan my executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
