O. Cooper his executors administrators or assigns the full Sum of three hundred dollars Current money
with legal interest on the Same on or before the twenty fifth day of December in the year eighteen hundred
and fifty five then and in Such Case these presents and every matter and thing herein Contained shall
Cease determine and be utterly void to all intents and purposes anything herein Contained to the Contrary
notwithstanding:  And that he the said Moses A. Bright for himself his heirs executors or administrators
shall and will well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said William O. Cooper his executors administrators
or assigns the said sum of three hundred dollars Current money together with interest for the
same after the rate aforesaid at such times and after such manner as herein before set forth and agreed for
the payment thereof.      In testimony whereof the said Moses A. Bright has hereunto set his hand and
seal on the day and year above written                                                                    his

The State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit:      Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that
on the twenty second day of February in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and fifty four Personally
appeared Moses A. Bright free negro party grantor in the above and aforegoing Bill of sale and did
sign Seal and acknowledge the Same to be his act and deed and delivered the Same for the uses and
purposes therein mentioned and on the Same day before me as aforesaid personally appeared William O.
Cooper the grantee named in the aforesaid and aforegoing Bill of Sale and made Oath on the Holy
Evangely of Almighty god that the Consideration mentioned in the aforegoing Bill of Sale is true and
Bona fide as therein Set forth acknowledged and Sworn before                               D. W. Tyler

       I do further Certify that the aforegoing BIll of Sale was Interlined between Seventeenth and eighteenth
lines as follows one Cupboard and one Bay horse three years old and between Eighteenth and nineteenth
lines one yoke of work oxen               Certified by                                                D. W. Tyler

I hereby release the above mortgage witness my hand & seal this 23d day of March 1853

Robert W. Lewis                           This Indenture Made this Sixth day of March in the year
                                          of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four by and between
William O. Cooper and Robert W. Lewis of Dorchester County ^in the State of Maryland of the one part and John Davis of the Same County^ and State aforesaid of the other part
Whereas the said John Davis by his Indenture of Mortgage bearing date the eighth day of December
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty two duly executed acknowledged
and recorded in Liber F. J. H. No 2 folios 29 and 30 one of the Chattel record Books for Dorchester
County did for and in Consideration of the Sum of Two Hundred Dollars Current Money grant
bargain Sell alien enfeoff and Confirm unto the said William O. Cooper and Robert W. Lewis
their heirs and assigns all and singular the personal property hereinafter particularly mentioned and
expressed that is to say one negro boy Called and Known by the name of "Stephen" aged about
ten years to serve until he arrives to the age of twenty one years and then to be free one Horse and
Carriage (the Color of said horse is bay) reference being had to the above recited Deed of Mortgage, will
more fully and at large appear.  And whereas the said John Davis, hath fully satisfied and paid
to them the Said William O. Cooper and Robert W. Lewis the above mentioned Sum of Money
and the interest thereon, they the said William O. Cooper and Robert W. Lewis doth agree to
execute this instrument of writing, as a full release of the above mentioned and described negro
boy "Stephen" and Horse and Carriage.  Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the Said William
