97 Blade fodder all the Household & Kitchen furniture now in our possession. To Have and To Hold the said described property to the said Thomas J. Dail & Levin J. Dail their Executors administrators and assigns forever and we the said Eliza Akeman and James Akeman for ourselves our heirs Executors and administrators the aforesaid horse & Carriage 6 head of Cattle 1 ox Cart 1 horse Cart 12 hogs 15 Barrels Corn 1000 lb Blade fodder and Household & Kitchen furniture to the said Thomas J. Dail and Levin J. Dail their Executors administrators and assigns against us the said Eliza Akeman and James Akeman our Executors or administrators and against all and every person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In witness whereof we the said Eliza Akeman and James Akeman have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals this Ninth day day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred fifty four her Signed sealed and delivered Eliza x Akeman (seal) in the presence of mark Charles Corkran her James x Akeman (seal) mark Maryland Dorchester County to wit: On this ninth day of February in the year of Eighteen hundred fifty four before me one of the Justices of the peace of ^in^ and for said County appears Eliza Akeman and James Akeman and acknowledges the aforesaid writing to be their act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of Assembly in such Cases made and provided Charles Corkran J. P. Maryland Dorchester County to wit Be it remembered that on the date of the aforegoing acknowledgment before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for said County personally appears Thomas J. Dail and Levin J. Dail parties to the foregoing Bill of Sale or instrument of writing and makes oath on the holy Evangely of almighty God that the Consideration set forth in the aforegoing bill of Sale or instrument of Writing is true and bona fide as stated therein Sworn before Charles Corkran Deld to Levin J. Dail Sept 16.th 1854 William O. Cooper Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Mortgage Bill of Sale √ from xd was received and recorded on the 26th day of February 1854 to wit: Moses A. Bright free negro This Indenture made this twenty second day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four between Moses A. Bright (free negro) of Dorchester County in the state of maryland of the one part and William O. Cooper of County & State aforesaid of the other part. Whereas the said Moses A. Bright owes and stands Justly indebted to the said William O. Cooper in the sum of three hundred dollars Current money and to Secure the payment thereof is willing to execute these presents. Now this indenture witnesseth that the said Moses A. Bright for and in Consideration of the premises and of the sum of five dollars Current money to him in hand paid by the said William O. Cooper at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said William O. Cooper his Executors administrators and assigns all and singular the property goods furniture and household stuff hereinafter particularly mentioned and expressed that is to say three beds, bedsteads & furniture one beaureau one clock six stool chairs one cupboard ^one plough^ one bay horse three years old one yoke of work oxen one yoke of young oxen three years old one red the other brindle marked in their right ears with a swallow fork and in their left with an underbit; one yoke of young oxen two years old the one red and the other Brindle marked as above one brindle heir two years old marked as above one red Cow and Calf marked as above eight head of hogs marked as above one sow and six pigs marked as above. To Have and to Hold all and singular the said goods, property, furniture and household stuff unto the said William O. Cooper his executors administrators and assigns to his and their own use and behoof. Provided always, and it is declared to be the true intent and meaning of these presents, that if the said Moses A. Bright do, and shall well and truly pay or Cause to be paid, unto the said William |
