92 State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit On this twenty fifth day of January in the year eighteen hundred and fifty four before the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for the state and County aforesaid personally appeared Richard M. Beall party mortgagor and acknowledged the within and aforegoing mortgage Bill of Sale to be his act and deed according to the purport true intent and meaning of the same and at the same time Came before me Charles F Goldsborough party mortgagee within mentioned and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the Consideration set forth in the within and aforegoing mortgage bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth In witness whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the day and year aforesaid R. R. Robertson Robert F. Thompson Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill of √ from xd Sale was received and recorded on the 26th day of January 1854 to wit James Thompson Know all men by these presents That I James Thompson Executor of Sarah Rawleigh of Dorchester County and State of Maryland for and in Consideration of the Sum of Three hundred and fifty dollars Current money to me in hand paid by Robert F. Thompson of Dorchester County and State of Maryland have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Robert F. Thompson his heirs and assigns the following negro boy John to serve unto the last day of December eighteen hundred and Seventy according to the terms and limitation of Sarah Rawleighs last will and testament and order of the orphans Court Slave for the term afsd and not Sound in body and mind. To Have and To Hold the said negro boy John until the last day of December eighteen hundred and seventy according to the limitation of the will aforesaid as above bargained and sold unto the said Robert F. Thompson his heirs executors administrators and assigns against me the said James Thompson Executor of Sarah Rawleigh and her heirs executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever Shall and will warrant and forever defend. In Testimony whereof I James Thompson Executor afsd and have hereto set their hands and affixed seals this twentieth day of January eighteen hundred and Fifty four Signed Sealed and delivered James Thompson (seal) in the presence of R. F. Thompson (seal) R. R. Robertson Maryland Dorchester County to wit: On the twentieth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Fifty four personally appeared before me a Justice of the peace in and for said County the within named James Thompson Executor of Sarah Rawleigh and acknowledged the within bill of Sale to be his act and deed according to the purport, true intent and meaning of the Same, and at the Same time Came before me Robert F. Thompson within mentioned and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God, that the Consideration set forth in this bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth according to the true meaning of the Act of Assembly of 1846 Chapter 271 made and provided Acknowledged before R R Robertson 1854 January 26th Received of Robert F. Thompson the Sum of one Dollar in lieu of a Stamp on the Bill of Sale Francis J Henry Clk Delivered to Robert F. Thompson February 18.th 1856 |
