91 We the said Alexander R. Anderson and Amanda his wife have put the said John Baker in full possession by delivering to him the said John Baker the said negro boy Henry above described at the Sealing and deliver^in^g of these presents unto him the said John Baker as aforesaid In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals this tenth day of January in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and fifty four Signed sealed and delivered A. R. Anderson (seal) in the presence of Amanda M. Anderson (seal) John D. Stevens J. P. John Baker (seal) And at the Same time and place also appeared before me John Baker the grantee in the said Bill of Sale named and made oath that the Consideration set forth in the said Bill of Sale is true and Bona fide as therein set forth Sworn before John D. Stevens J. P. Jany 10th 1854 1854 January 25th Received of John Baker the Sum of one Dollar in lieu of a Stamp on this bill of Sale Francis J. Henry clk Charles F. Goldsborough Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following ^mortgage^ Bill of Sale was √ from xd received and recorded on the 25th day of January 1854 to wit: Richard M. Beall This indenture made this twenty fifth day of January in the year of our Lord eight hundred and fifty four between Richard M Beall of Dorchester County and State of Maryland of the one part and Charles F. Goldsborough of the same County and State of the Other part: Whereas the said Richard M. Beall by his Bill obligatory duly executed bearing the same date with these presents owes and stands Justly indebted to the Said Charles F. Goldsborough in the sum of eight hundred dollars Current Money to be paid on or before the first day of January eighteen hundred and fifty five with the legal interest for the same as by the said bill obligatory will more fully appear and to secure the payment of the said sum of eight hundred dollars with the legal interest for the same is willing to execute these presents. Now this indenture witnesseth that the said Richard M. Beall for and in Consideration of the premises and of he sum of five dollars to him in hand paid by the said Charles F. Goldsborough at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Charles F. Goldsborough his executors administrators and assigns all and singular the goods Chattels and personal property hereinafter particularly mentioned and expressed: that is to say One half of the printing press type Cases furniture and materials in the office of the Cambridge Chronicle newspaper all and singular which Said half of Said printing press type Cases furniture and materials are now remaining standing and being in a Certain messuage or tenement situate in the town of Cambridge and now in the occupation of the said Richard M. Beall being the Same half of Said printing press type Cases furniture and materials which were Conveyed by the said Charles F. Goldsborough to the Said Richard M. Beall by a Bill of Sale duly executed and bearing date the fifth day of January 1854 and recorded in Liber F. J. H. No 2 folios 81 & 82 one of the chattel record books of Dorchester County. To have and To Hold all and singular the said half of said printing press type Cases furniture and materials unto the said Charles F. Goldsborough his Executors administrators and assigns to his and their own use and behoof. Provided always and it is declared to be the true intent and meaning of these presents, that if the Said Richard M. Beall do and shall well and truly pay or Cause to be paid unto the Said Charles F. Goldsborough his executors administrators or assigns the said full sum of eight hundred dollars Current money with legal interest for the Same on or before the first day of January 1855 then and in Such Case these presents and every matter and thing herein Contained Shall Cease determine and be utterly void to all intents and purposes any thing herein Contained to the Contrary notwithstanding.
