Curtis Davis                Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that the following Bill of Sale as received and
    √ from  xd               recorded on the 25th day of February 1858 to wit:
William F. Newton      Know all men by these presents, that I, William F. Newton of Dorchester County
in the State of Maryland For and in Consideration of the sum of Ninety five dollars and seventy one Cents
Current money to me in hand paid by Curtis Davis of Caroline County in the said State at and before
the sealing and deliver^in^g  of these presents the receipt whereof I the said William F. Newton do hereby acknowledge,
have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents, do grant, bargain, and sell unto the said
Curtis Davis, his Executors, administrators, and assigns, all the goods house hold stuff, implements
and furniture particularly mentioned, Expressed and Contained in the Schedule hereunto annexed (or thus
hereinafter particularly mentioned that is to say; one gray mare, one ox, one Cow, to yearling, two Sheep
one sow & four shoats, one ox Cart, one gig, two Beds sixty Cords of Oak ^and pine^ wood) all and singular which
said goods and chattels are now remaining standing and being in a Certain messuage tenement, situated in
Dorchester County and State of Maryland, and now in the occupation of the said WIlliam F. Newton
To Have and To Hold, all and singular the said goods, Household stuff and furniture, and other
the premises, above Bargained and sold, or mentioned and intended so to be, to the said Curtis Davis, his
executors administrators and assigns forever, and I the said William F. Newton, for my self, my heirs,
Executors and administrators, all and Singular the said goods, household stuff and Furniture and other
the premises, unto the said Curtis Davis, his Executors, administrators, and assigns, against me the said William
F. Newton my Executors and administrators, and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever, shall
and will warrant and forever defend by these presents, of all and singular which said goods, household
stuff and furniture, and other the premises I the said William F. Newton, have put the said
Curtis Davis in full possession, bu delivering to him the said Curtis Davis one gray mare, at the
Sealing and delivery of these presents in the name of the whole premises hereby bargained and sold, or mentioned
and intended to be so, unto him the said Curtis Davis as aforesaid                                   In witness whereof
the said William F. Newton do hereby set my hand and seal this the Eleventh day of February Eighteen
Hundred and fifty three (1853)

State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit      Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that
on this the Eleventh day of February Eighteen Hundred and fifty three before me the subscriber a Justice
of the peace in and for state & County aforesaid personally appears William F. Newton, party
grantor in the foregoing bill of Sale, he being known to me to be the person who is named and
described as and professes to be such and doth acknowledge the said Indenture or Instrument
of writing to be his act and deed to the full purport and meaning of the same according to the acts of
assembly in such Cases made and provided, In witness whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the
