33 Received the 18th day of December 1852 of Rigby Valiant the Sum of One Dollar in lieu of a stamp on this Bill of sale Francis J. Henry Clerk C. Hubbard Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill of Sal was from received and recorded on the 27th day of December 1852 to wit Thos. J. Dail Cambridge December 27.th 1852 Received of Clement Hubbard Esq. his note for seven hundred dollars which when paid will be in full for negro man William Skinner sold and delivered this day as administrators of Shadrach Mitchell Decd. the said boy Slave for life Thomas J. Dail Admr of Shadrach Mitchell 1852 December 27th Received of Clement Hubbard one dollar in lieu of a stamp on this Bill of Sale Francis J. Henry Clk Delivered to M.r C Hubbard April 1st 1853 Harriet Dutton & Children Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Exd from manumission was received and recorded on the 27th day of December John Kirby 1852 to wit: To all whom it may Concern, be it known that I John Kirby of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland for divers good Causes and Considerations me thereunto moving have released from Slavery, liberated manumitted and set free ^and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit & set free^ my negro woman named Harriet Dutton being of the age of thirty two years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro woman named Harriet Dutton, I do declare to be henceforth free, manumitted and discharged from all manner of Service or servitude to me my executors or administrators forever, furthermore by virtue of these presents I have released from slavery, manumitted and set free the following named negroes, all the children of the aforesaid negro woman Harriet, that is to say, first negro girl Abby aged Eleven years, said Abby to serve me, and my heirs unto the twenty fourth of September, one Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy one, then to be free, Secondly negro William now eight years of age said William to serve me and my heirs unto the twenty ninth day of June in the year one thousand Eight hundred and Seventy four then to be free thirdly negro Boy named Willis now seven years of age, Said Willis to serve me, and my heirs until the twenty fifth day of December one thousand eight Hundred and seventy five then to be free fourthly Boy Noah now four years of age said Noah to serve me and my heirs until the Sixteenth day of October in the year One thousand Eight Hundred and seventy Eight then to be free, and lastly negro Girl Margaret now of the age of Three years to serve me and my heirs until the sixth day of may in the year one Thousand Eight hundred and seventy nine then to be free In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal on this Twenty seventh day of November in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and fifty two Witness John Kirby (seal) Jas. Hammersley State of Maryland Dorchester County To wit: Be it remembered, that on this Twenty seventh day of December in the year of our Lord, one thousand Eight Hundred and fifty two, before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace of the said State, in and for Dorchester County personally appears John Kirby and acknowledges the aforesaid or within instrument of writing or manumission to be his act and deed for the purposes therein set forth in accordance with acts of assembly in Such Cases made & provided Taken and Certified before me Charles Corkran Deliv.d to J F.
