292 and sell to the said Stewart the following property to wit: 1 Grey mare, 1 Steer, 1 ox Cart, 1 Cow and Calf and 2 yearlings. Provided that if I the said Joseph Farrow free Colored man shall pay to the said John Kiah free colored man (the holder of the Bill Obligatory above specified) the said sum of Fifty Dollars with the interest thereon on or before the first day of December next then these presents shall be void. Witness my hand and seal this 9th day of September Anno Domini 1857 his Test. The word "to" in the 3.d line & the word "me" in the Joseph x Farrow }seal{ acknowledgment of this mortgage were interlined before the execution of the same. At the same time and place also appeared before me Justice as aforesaid Joseph R. Stewart the Mortgagee named in the above Mortgage and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the Consideration mentioned therein is true and Bona fide as therein set forth. Columbus Tall Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill √ from xd of Sale was received & recorded on the 10th day of September 1857 to wit: Francis W. Tall We, Francis W Tall, Henrietta J. Tall & Sarah A. Tall of Dorchester Henrietta J. Tall & County State of Maryland in Consideration of One Hundred Sarah A. Tall Dollars paid us by S. Columbus Tall resident of the same County & State do hereby bargain & sell to the said S. Columbus Tall our negro slaves John for the term of twelve years from the date hereof & negro Jacob, for the term of fourteen years from the date hereof a negro Girl Allice for the term of twenty one years from the date hereof the said slaves being slaves for the term each respectively as above specified from the date hereof and no longer, and the said S.
