made oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that the Consideration in the said Mortgage
is true and Bona fide as therein set forth

Dulcena Scott        Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Deed of
√      To   xd         Manumission was received and recorded on the 7th day of July 1857 to wit
Sundry Negroes   To all whom it may concern Be it known that I Dulcena Scott
                            of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes
and considerations me thereunto moving have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set
free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free the
following negroes to wit Negro Woman Maria Jane Willen and her four children "Viz" Samuel
Francis James and John which said negroes I do declare to be henceforth free from me my executors
administrators and assigns forever.  In witness whereof I the said Dulcena Scott hath hereunto
set my hand and affixed my seal this 21st day of December Anno Domini 1855.
