272 State of Maryland Talbot County to wit: Be it remembered that on this twenty seventh day of May Eighteen Hundred and fifty seven before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for Talbot County personally appeared Charles Baker and Elwell Parks and severally and respectively acknowledged the within Mortgage to be their respective act: At the same time also personally appeared Thomas Hughlett within named Mortgagee before me and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration in the within Mortgage named is Bona fide true and correct as therein set forth. Acknowledged and sworn to before T E Lloyd J. P. State of Maryland Talbot County to wit: I hereby Certify that Thomas E. Lloyd Esquire before whom the aforegoing acknowledgment was made and who has thereto signed his name was at the time of so doing a Justice of the Peace of the said State in and for the County aforesaid duly Commissioned & sworn. Woodward the sum of One thousand Dollars being in full for a negro man named Joseph Bantam aged about 21 years slave for life sound in body and mind Witness my hand the day and year above written. Regnier Know all men by these presents that I John B. Regnier of Dorchester County and State of Maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of three hundred and ninety two Dollars and twenty Cents lawful money of the United States to me in hand paid by Z. Tarman of the City of Baltimore State aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Z. Tarman his Executors administrators and assigns 4 Barrels flour, 2 Extra Flour, seven sacks of Salt, 2 Barrels of Sugar, 2 Bags Coffee, three boxes Soap, 1 Box variegated soap, 1 box starch, one box Saleratus, 1 box Ginger, five Boxes Tea, 5 box Black tea, 2 doz Essen Coffee, 10 lbs Allspice 5 Cinnamon 5 lbs Gran cloves 2 nutmegs 10 lbs mustard 2 dozen Broken mustard 3 dozen Blacking 1 Bbl Vinegar 10 lb Race Ginger 25 lb Rice 3 gro matches ½ doz Boxes pickles 2 Boxes pepper Sauce 1 Box adm candles 1 Box ground pepper 5 lb twine 1 doz British lustre ½ doz night candles 1 doz Port Monies and all the Goods, Wares and Merchandise in my Store at Cambridge Maryland or that may hereafter be placed in said Store and all the Household & Kitchen furniture in said Dwelling House. To Have and To Hold the said described Goods, Wares, Merchandize & furniture to the said Z. Tarman his Executors administrators |
