Yoke Waggon & gear, Four plows, three harrows & Gear, one wheat fan & Corn Cradle, four thousand
pounds blades, one bay mare Queen, thirty five bushels of wheat seeded on the Ground, Fifteen bushels
of oats seeded on the farm, all the Household & Kitchen furniture on the premises afs.d two spades,
two shovels, one Grubbing hoe and two weeding hoes.  Provided, that if I the said John Jolly shall
pay to the said John A. Scott the said sum of Six Hundred Dollars with interest thereon from
January the first on or before the first day of October next then these presents shall be void:
Provided that in default of payment the said John A Scott may sell the above mortgaged property
in the following manner for Cask upon the premises giving ten days notice by advertisement
at the most public places in the neighbourhood of the time & terms of Sale.  Witness my hand and
seal this 27th day of March Eighteen Hundred & fifty seven.                                 his

for Dorchester County aforesaid, John Holly, Coloured man and acknowledged the foregoing

James L. Bryan      Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Deed
√      From  xd       of Trust was received and recorded on the 31st day of March 1857 to wit:
James Bryan          I James Bryan of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland
                             being about to change my residence and being desirous of closing up my present
business and paying up my debts fairly & honorably as for us I have the ability in
Consideration of these circumstances as well as the sum of Five Dollars paid me by James
L Bryan do hereby bargain & sell to the said James L. Bryan the following property
now being & remaining upon the farm where I now reside to wit:  two Grey mares & one colt
& one sorrel Horse, one yoke of Oxen, one Cow, on heifer, one yerling calf, one horse Cart,
one ox Cart, five ploughs, Harrows & Gear more or less, forth Barrels of Corn more or
less, one thousand pounds of Bacon more or less one small sail Boat all the straw top &
Blade fodder, Household & Kitchen furniture now lying being & remaining upon said farm
also a lot of Lumber, paints, oils and all the residue of the personal property now on
said farm of every kind & description whatsoever it being the intention of the said James
Bryan to embrace all his personal estate in this conveyance for the purposes hereinafter
stated in trust for the following purposes to wit: the said James L. Bryan shall sell
upon a Credit of not more than six months all the aforesaid property after having
given ten days notice by publication in some newspaper published in Dorchester
County & by hand Bills of the time place & day of sale and at the time of said publication
give notice to all my Creditors to file with him a statement of their claim against
me within six months from the said day of sale; then out of the proceeds of sale he
shall pay the expenses of executing this trust & five per cent Commission for his trouble
then pay all taxes due from me and in arrear & unpaid then pay the amount of a Judgment
which William H. Barton holds against me in full which was superceded by the
said James L. Bryan under an express promise to save him harmless then pay John C Hackness
of the City of Washington the sum of Two Hundred Dollars for money advanced
to me as a stranger in need to buy the same property hereby conveyed & which I feel under
the highest obligation to repay and then to pay all my other just debts without preference
or priority as far as the proceeds will go provided my said Creditors shall file their claims
