Shadrick Cromwell      Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that
    √      from   xd         the following Bill of Sale was received and
Thomas Jackson         recorded on the 13th day of December 1856 to wit
                                  I Thomas Jackson Test of Dorchester County in
consideration of two hundred dollars paid me by Shadrick Cromwell
Test of Dorchester County do hereby bargain and sell to
the said Shadrick Cromwell that the following property to wit
Three horses, three yoke steers, three cows, three yearlings, two
ox carts, five head hogs, two ploughs, three stacks of blades, three
stacks top fodder, twenty barrels corn, ten geese, five turkeys and
ten chickens

       Witness my hand & seal this 13th day of December 1856

State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit
             I hereby certify that on this 13th day of December
1856 before the subscriber a justice of the peace of the said
state in and for the said County personally appeared Thomas
Jackson Test and acknowledged the foregoing Bill of sale to be his act
And at the same time before me also appeared Shadrick Cromwell Sr
and made oath in due form of Law that the consideration in
the said bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth

       √      from   xd           that the following Bond was received and
William H. Reed &           recordedg on the 22d day of December 1856
others
                                        Know all men by these presents.  That we
William H Reed, Cyrus Bell & William H. Brinsfield of Dorchester
County and State of Maryland are held and firmly bound unto
the State of Maryland in the full and just Sum of three hundred
dollars current money of Maryland to be paid to the said State or
its certain Attorney to the which payment well and truly to be
made and done we bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators
in the whole and for the whole jointly and severally
firmly by these presents, sealed with our seals and dated this
twenty ninth day of November Eighteen hundred & fifty six.  Whereas the
County Commissioners for Dorchester County by virtue of a supplement
