243 Five Hundred Dollars paid me by Samuel M Traverse resident of the County and State aforesaid do hereby bargain and sell to the said Samuel M Traverse my negro slave Thomas to serve till he is thirty six years of age and said slave to serve till he is thirty six years and no longer and the said vendor being entitled to the said slave for the whole time. Travers Sam M Travers (seal) State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit I hereby Certify that on this twentieth day of October 1856 Personally appeared before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace for the Dorchester County aforesaid Matthias Travers and acknowledged the foregoing Bill of Sale to be his act Thomas Lambdin S & E Harrington Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill od Sale was received √ from xd and recorded on the 3rd day of November Anno Domini 1856 to wit: Joseph Marine I Joseph Marine of Dorchester County and State of Maryland in Consideration of the sum of seventy two dollars and forty eight cents paid me by S & E Harrington of Dorchester County and State aforesaid do hereby bargain and sell to the said S & E Harrington the following property to wit: one yoke of oxen, two ox Carts, three cows, two Heifers, two yearlings, two calves, ten head of sheep, Eight head hogs, one mare & Colt, one Carriage, four ploughs, four Harrows, one wheat Fan, and all of my interest in all of the Corn crop top & Blade fodder that I now own and likewise all the wheat that I raise this present year. As Witness my hand and seal this the 23.d day of October 1856 his Test W.m R. Tall Charles Shenton Jr Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill of Sale √ from xd was received and recorded on the 12th day of November Anno Domini 1856 to wit: Charles Shenton Sr I Charles Shenton Senior of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland in Consideration of love and affection for my son Charles Shenton Junior and of one Dollar paid me by Charles Shenton Jr do hereby bargain and sell to the said Charles Shenton Jr. the following property negro Woman Charity aged 24 years negro boy George aged 16 years negro Boy Robert aged 14 years negro Girl Harriet aged 12 years negro Girl Loiusa aged 10 years negro boy William aged 8 years negro boy Peter aged 6 years Negro Girl Minty aged 4 years Negro Woman Eliza aged 30 years and her Child Joseph lina slaves for life.
