235 commissioned and Sworn In Testimony whereof I hereto set my hand and affix the Seal (Official of the Superior court of Baltimore city this twenty eighth Seal) day of June A. D. 1856 W. Dowling, clerk of the Superior court of Baltimore city Levin Mobray Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that the √ From xd following Mortgage Bill of Sale was received and Charles Austin recorded on the 18th day of August A. D. 1856 to wit: I Charles Austin (free colored man) of Dorchester county Maryland in consideration of Levin Mobray of the same county and State becoming security for me on two Bills obligatory one in favor of capt. Joseph Dawson for the Sum of Three Hundred dollars with interest thereon from the Twenty Eighth day of April Eighteen Hundred and fifty Six and one other Bill obligatory in favor of John Mears for the Sum of One hundred and ten dollars with interest thereon from the Eleventh day of August Eighteen Hundred and fifty Six and to Secure and indemnify the Said Levin Mobray from all loss by reason of his securityship as aforesaid do hereby bargain and sell to the Said Levin Mobray the following property Five horses three colts two yoke of oxen two ox carts and one wagon Provided that if I the said Charles Austin shall pay to the said Joseph Dawson the Said Sum of Three hundred dollars with the interest thereon on or before the twenty Eighth day of September next and shall also pay to the Said John Mears the Said Sum of one hundred and ten dollars with the interest thereon on or before the First day of January Eighteen hundred and fifty Seven then these presents shall be void. Witness my hand and Seal this Eighteenth day of August Eighteen hundred and fifty Six his Test S. W. Lecompte Charles x Austin (seal) mark State of Maryland Dorchester county, to wit: I hereby certify that on this Eighteenth day of August Eighteen hundred and fifty Six personally appeared before the Subscriber a Justice of the peace for Dorchester county aforesaid Charles Austin and acknowledged the foregoing Mortgage bill of Sale to be his act. At the same time and place also appeared before me Levin Mobray the grantee within named in the Said Mortgage Bill of Sale and made Oath that the consideration set forth in the said mortgage Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth In Testimony whereof i hereunto subscribe my name on the day and year aforesaid S.
