232 State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit I hereby certify that on this Eighth day of August Eighteen hundred and fifty Six personally appeared before the Subscriber a Justice of the peace for Dorchester County aforesaid Mathias Travers & Thos. E. Hambleton one of the firm of Jno. A. Hambleton & Bro. and acknowledged the foregoing bill of Sale to be their act Charles Corkran The interlineations above were made before the execution of this paper in my presence Charles Corkran J. P. William W. Crawford Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that Paid From the following Mortgage Bill of Sale was received Hugh Maguire and recorded on the 21st day of July 1856 to wit: This Indenture made this Eleventh day of July in the year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and fifty Six between Hugh Maguire of Dorchester county and State of Maryland of the one part and William W. Crawford of Dorchester county and State aforesaid of the other part whereas the Said Hugh Maguire owes and stands justly indebted to the said William W. Crawford on Note of Hand in the Sum of Two Hundred and Sixteen Dollars and Seventy two cents current money and to secure the payment thereof is willing to Execute these presents Now this Indenture witnesseth that the Said Hugh Maguire for and in consideration of the premises and for and in consideration of the sum of One Dollar current money to him in hand paid by these presents the receipt whereof the Said Hugh Maguire doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and therefrom doth acquit release Exonerate and forever discharge the said William W. Crawford his heirs executors and administrators and Every of them by these presents hath granted bargained and Sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto William W. Crawford his Executors administrators and assigns all and Singular the property hereinafter particularly mentioned and Expressed that is to say One negro woman Mary aged about thirty years, Four beds, bedsteads and furniture one Beaureau, Two tables, twelve chairs To Have and To Hold all and singular the said Property herein before granted bargained and sold or mentioned or intended so to be unto the said William W. Crawford his executors administrators and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the Said William W. Crawford his executors administrators and assigns forever. Provided Always and these presents are upon this condition that if the Said Hugh Maguire his executors or administrators shall and do well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the Said William W. Crawford his executors administrators or assigns the full sum of Two Hundred and Sixteen Dollars and Seventy two cents current money with legal interest for the Same on or before the first day of January in the year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and fifty Seven then and in such case these presents and Ever matter and thing herein contained shall determine and be utterly void to all intents and purposes any thing herein Delivered to W W Crawford Dec 18th 1856 |
