H Willoughby the subscribing witnesses to the within Bond before me the subscriber one of the Justices
of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for Dorchester County aforesaid and severally
made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that they did see Robert Bell James Davis
Josiah Carroll David M. Corkran Levin Mobray Thomas H Hicks and John W. Brohawn
obligors in the said Bond sign seal and deliver the said Bond as their respective act and deed
and that they the said Francis J Henry and John H Willoughby did subscribe their names as witnesses thereto

The within Bond & Sureties approved by the County Commissioners for Dorchester County this
seventh day of July 1856                                                                           Josiah Jump Clerk to

The State of Maryland       Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bond
       √   from   xd               was received and recorded on the 7th day of July 1856 to wit:
Robert Bell and Others      Know all men by these presents that we Robert Bell
                                         James Davis Josiah Carroll David M. Corkran Levin Mobray
Thomas H. Hicks and John W. Brohawn of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland
are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and just sum of Ten
Thousand five hundred and ninety eight Dollars and fifty eight Cents Current money
of the United States to be paid to the said State or its certain Attorney to the which
payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves and each of us our and
each of our heirs Executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents
Sealed with our seals and dated this seventh day of July in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and fifty six.   The Condition of the above obligation is such
that if the above bounden Robert Bell appointed Collector of the Dircect Tax for Dorchester
County shall well and faithfully execute the Office of Collector of the Direct
Tax for said County and the several duties required of him by Law and shall well and
truly account for and pay to the Treasurer of Maryland the several sums of money
which he shall receive or be answerable for by Law at such time as the law shall
direct then the above obligation to be void or else to be and remain in full force
and virtue in law.
