Dowling clerk of the Superior court of Baltimore city State of Maryland Dorchester county to wit Be it remembered that on this Sixteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty Six, before the Subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for the county and State aforesaid personally appears Levin A. Insley party grantee named in the within Bill of Sale and made Oath that the consideration set forth in the within Bill of Sale is true and Bona fide as therein set forth Sworn Before D. W. Tyler Jesse Hubbard Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following √ from xd Bill of Sale was received and recorded on the 2d day of July 1856 to wit: Anthony C Thompson Know all men by these presents that I Anthony C Thompson of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland for the consideration of the sum of Seven Hundred and fifty Dollars Current money to me in hand paid by Jesse Hubbard of Caroline County and State aforesaid the receipt whereof I do herby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and delivered and by these presents do grant bargain sell and deliver unto the said Jesse Hubbard my negroes slaves John Henry Kiah which said slave to serve till he is thirty years old being till January 1872 and Sary Jane Kiah to serve to the same age being till January 1877 which said slaves John H Kiah and Sarah J Kiah I will warrant and defend to the said Jesse Hubbard his Executors administrators and assigns against my Executors and administrators and against every other person or person whomsoever. In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my name and affixed my seal this 26th day of June in the year one thousand eight hundred and fifty six In the presence of A. C. Thompson (seal) Test Charles Corkran Maryland Dorchester County to wit On this 26th day of June 1856 before me one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County apeared Anthony C. Thompson and acknowledge the foregoing writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof unto the act of assembly in such case made and provided Witness my hand Charles Corkran Delivered to Jesse Hubbard the 15th day of April 1857 by Willoughby The State of Maryland Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Deed √ from xd Bond was received and recorded on the 12th day of May 1856 to wit: William Pickram & Oths Know all men by these presents that we William Pickram & S. H. Rhodes & Rich.d Rhodes of Dorchester County and State of Maryland are held & firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and just sum of Three Hundred Dollars Current money of the United States to be paid to the said State or its certain Attorney to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves our heirs Executors and administrators in the whole and for the whole jointly and severally firmly by these presents.
