203 February in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and Fifty Six personally appeared before me a Justice of the Peace in and for Said County the within named Robert Willey and acknowledged the within Bill of Sale to be his act and deed according to the purport true intent and meaning of the Same and at the Same time came before me Greenbury Holt and Thos. M. Meredith within mentioned and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in this Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth according to the Act of Assembly made and provided Acknowledged & Sworn before James Moobray Alcinda Damer Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that the √ from 95 following Bill of Sale was received and recorded on the Letitia H. Damer 17th day of March 1856 to wit: Whereas from the interest or proceeds of certain monies invested in England for my use benefit and Support I have purchased the hereinafter mentioned and described goods chattels and furniture and have given them to my beloved Step mother and am desirous that the Same shall be secured to her and to her sole and seperate use and ownership for her comfort and that of her children my beloved brothers and Sisters free clear and discharged from all debts and liabilities of any and all other person or persons whomsoever. Now Know all men by these Presents That I Letitia H. Damer now of the County of Dorchester in the State of Maryland for and in Consideration of the above premises and of love and affection for my said Step mother and for and in Consideration of the Sum of one dollar to me in hand paid by Alcinda Damer of Said County and State at and before the Sealing and delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these Presents do give grant bargain and sell unto the said Alcinda Damer her heirs executors administrators and assigns the following Chattels and furniture namely one centre table one dozen parlor Cane Seat Chairs twelve Common Chairs Six Extra Chairs two Cane Seat Arm Chairs two wood arm chairs one rocking Chair one Piano stool two Attomans three rout Tables; two toilet tables three bedsteads and bedding comforts and blankets sheets quilts &c one Side board dining and tea China one dining table one mahogany work Stand three Carpets oil Cloth &c three looking glasses Kitchen stove two parlor Stoves Kitchen Culinary furniture one bureau and wardrobe and all and Singular the household and Kitchen furniture and Chattels at the present being in the house occupied by the said Alcinda Damer and her family in Cambridge Dorchester County maryland To Have and To Hold all and Singular the Said goods household Stuff and furniture above granted or mentioned and intended so to be to the Said Alcinda Damer her heirs executors administrators and assigns forever In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 19th day of February 1856 Letitia Hannah Damer (seal) State of Maryland County SS Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that |
