2 to him the said Lewis Ross of a part of said Mortgaged property namely the negro property named therein Thomas, Isaac & Maria & here increase slaves for life for and in consideration of said indebtedness; he the said said Lewis Ross doth agree to execute this instrument of writing as a full release of all the aforesaid mortgaged property with the exception of the said negro slaves Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Lewis Ross for and in consideration of the said payment by conveyance and for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to him in hand paid by the said Thomas H. Hurley at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained and sold released and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell release and confirm unto him the said Thomas H. Hurley his heirs and assigns forever all the residue of the personal Estate chattels furniture implements crops and all the personal Estate whatever mentioned and described in the said mortgage Deed with the exception of the said negroes therein mentioned To have and to Hold the same unto the said Thomas H. Hurley, his heirs and assigns forever, and every part and parcel thereof freed cleared released and acquitted from all claim interest and demand of him the said Lewis Ross his heirs and assigns forever In Testimony whereof the said Lewis Ross hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written. Signed sealed & delivered Lewis Ross (seal) in presence of Charles Corkran State of Maryland Dorchester County. Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that on this fifth day of April 1852 before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for the County and State aforesaid personally appeared Lewis Ross grantor and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed according the purport true intent and meaning of the same, and at the same time came before me Thomas H. Hurley party grantee named in the said Bill of Sale, and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God, that the consideration set forth in the said Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth according to the act of assembly in such case made and provided, acknowledged and Sworn before me the day and year aforesaid. Robson Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that the following BIll of Sale was Exd From √ 50 received and recorded on the 21st June 1852 to wit. Mahalah Robson Know all men by these presents that I Mahalah Robson of Dorchester County State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty Dollars to me in hand paid by Roger Robson of the County and State aforesaid, have granted bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the aforesaid Roger C. Robson, his heirs and assigns forever, my negro girl named Mary Elizabeth a slave for life. To have and to Hold the above mentioned negro girl Mary Elizabeth unto the said Roger C. Robson his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and benefit & behoof of the said Roger C. Robson his heirs and assigns forever Witness my hand and seal this fifth day of June Eighteen hundred and fifty two her Signed sealed and delivered Mahala x Robinson (seal) in the presence of mark Thomas E. Cator State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit: Be it remembered that on this fifth day of June 1852 before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland, in and for said County personally appeared Mahalah Robson and acknowledged the above Bill of Deld to Roger C. Robinson June 11th 1853 |
