3 Sale or instrument of writing to be her act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned, also same time personally appeared Roger C. Robson grantee of said Bill of Sale or instrument of writing and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in the above Bill of Sale or instrument of writing is true and bona fide as therein set forth. Acknowledged before and certified by Thomas E. Cator Roger C Robinson Know all men by these presents that I Mahalah Robson of Dorchester County state of Ex.d from √ 45 Maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to me in hand paid by Mahala Robson Roger C Robson of the County & State aforesaid. Have granted bargained & sold and by these presents do grant bargain & sell unto the aforesaid Roger C Robson his heirs and assigns forever. My Negro Girl name Sarah Jane a slave for life. To have and to hold the above Mentioned Girl Sarah jane unto the said Roger C Robson his heirs and assigns forever to the only proper use & benefit & behoof of the said Roger C Robson his heirs and assigns forever. Witness my hand and seal this fifth day of June Eighteen hundred and fifty two his Signed sealed and delivered in the Mahalah + Robson (Seal) presence of Thomas E. Cator mark State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit Be it remembered that on this fifth day of June 1852. Before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for said County personally appeared Mahala Robson and acknowledged the above Bill of sale or instrument of Writing to be her act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned. Also same time appeared Roger C Robson grantee of said Bill of Sale or instrument of writing and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God; That the consideration set forth in the above Bill of Sale is true and Bona fide as therein set forth. Acknowledged before and Certified by Thomas E Cator Received & Recorded on the 21st June 1852 Del.d to Roger C Robinson June 11th 1853. James R. Phillips Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Mortgage Bill of Sale Exd from √ 105 was received and recorded on 28th June 1852. to wit. Thomas A. Smith [25 ct] This Indenture made this made this twenty sixth day June 1852 by and between [Stamp] Thomas K Smith of Dorchester County State of Maryland of the one part and James R Phillips of the County & State aforesaid of the other part. Whereas the said Thomas K Smith (Principle) and the said James R. Phillips and a certain William Willoughby as securities for the said Thomas K. Smith by their note or obligation duly Executed bearing date stands bound to a certain Zadock H Ross his Executors administrators or assigns in the balance said note or obligation supposed and believed to be about the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars current money with legal interest thereon. And whereas the said Thomas K Smith (principle) and the said James R Phillips as security for the said Thomas K. Smith by their note or obligation dated Stands bound to a certain John Bain his administrators Executors or assigns supposed and believed to be now about the sum of two hundred and twenty five dollars current money bearing interest from date as reference to the aforesaid note or obligation will appear. Now This Indenture witnesseth that the said Thomas K. Smith in consideration of the said debts or sums of money amounting to or supposed to be the sum of four hundred and seventy five dollars owing and due the said Zadock H Ross and John Bain as aforesaid, and for the better securing the payment thereof with interest and for the benefit relief securing and holding harmless the aforesaid James R Phillips and William Willoughby as security to the aforesaid Zadock H. Ross and the said James R. Phillips |
