190 sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged the said Mary A. Thomas hath granted bargained and sold transferred and assigned and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell transfer and assign unto the said Martin Goldsborough his Executors administrators and assigns all the right title and Interest of the said Mary A. Thomas in and to the service of a certain free negro Boy named Thomas Hawkins which by the Judgment of Dorchester County Court passed on the Eighth day of April Eighteen Hundred and fifty one was put to service to James G. Thomas of Talbot County since deceased and by whose death the service of the said Thomas Hawkins for the term then unexpired survived by operation of Law, to the said Mary A. Thomas as widow of the said James G. Thomas which term of service expires on the Eighth day of April Eighteen Hundred and Sixty To Have and to hold the said Negro Boy Thomas Hawkins for the term aforesaid to the said Martin Goldsborough his Executors administrators and assigns as aforesaid And I the said Mary A. Thomas have put the said Martin Goldsborough in full possession of the said negro Boy at the sealing and delivery of these presents In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this twenty second day of December Eighteen Hundred and fifty five Signed sealed and delivered Mary A. Thomas (seal) in presence of Charles Corkran State of Maryland Dorchester County sct: On this twenty second day of December Eighteen Hundred and fifty five before me the subscriber a justice of the peace of the state of Maryland in and for Dorchester County aforesaid personally appeared Mary A. Thomas who is known to me to be the person who is named and described as and professing to be the person or party to the within Bill of Sale or Instrument of writing and acknowledged the Same to be her act and deed Taken before Charles Corkran State of Maryland Dorchester County sct: On this Twenty fifth day of December Eighteen Hundred and fifty five before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland in and Dorchester County aforesaid personally appeared Martin Goldsborough the vendee in the within Bill of Sale and made Oath that the consideration set forth in the said Bill of Sale is true and Bona fide as therein set forth Charles Corkran Received December 26th 1855 of Martin Goldsborough the sum of one Dollar in lieu of a stamp on this Bill of Sale F. J.
