170 cents according to the tenor of a promissory note therein set forth Now this Indenture Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the above recited premises and of the sum of Fifteen hundred and thirty nine dollars and forty eight Cents by the party of the second part hereto to the said parties of the first part in hand paid at or before the Sealing and delivery hereof the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged the Said James Murray and Henry R. Hazlehurst have bargained and sold conveyed assigned and transferred and by these presents do bargain and sell convey assign and transfer unto the said William H. Ross his executors administrators and assigns. All their right title interest and estate in and to the Steamboat Kent aforesaid with her appurtenances and the Mortgage debt aforesaid and all their right title interest and estate property claim and demand whatsoever under and by virtue of the above recited Mortgage to them To Have and To Hold the said Steamboat Kent with her appurtenances and all the rights and privileges of the said parties of the first part under and by virtue of Said Mortgage including the Mortgage debt aforesaid unto and to the use of the Said William H. Ross his executors administrators and assigns In witness whereof the said parties of the first have hereto set their hands and seals on the day and year first above written Signed sealed and Delivered James Murray (seal) in the presence of H. R. Hazlehurst (seal) W.m H. Hayward State of Maryland City of Baltimore Sct On this twenty Seventh day of July A. D. 1855 before the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland in and for said City personally appeared James Murray and Henry R. Hazlehurst known to me of my own knowledge to be the persons who are named and described as and professing to be the parties of the first part to the foregoing Indenture or assignment of Mortgage and severally acknowledged the Same to be their respective act and deed: and also at the same time before me personally appeared William H. Ross the grantee in said Indenture named and made Oath according to law that the Consideration set forth in said Indenture is true and bona fide as therein set forth In Testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name on the day and year aforesaid W.m H. Hayward State of Maryland Baltimore City Sct I hereby Certify that William H. Hayward Esquire before whom the annexed acknowledgments & affidavits were made and who has thereto subscribed his name was at the time of so doing a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for the City of Baltimore duly commissioned and sworn.
