by these presents that I Noah Dayton of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland for and in
consideration of the sum of Forty Dollars Current Money to me in hand paid by Samuel McCready
of Dorchester County in the said state, at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt
whereof I the said Noah Dayton do hereby acknowledge have granted, bargained, and sold, and by
these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Samuel McCready his executors administrators
and assigns the following goods and chattels to wit   Household furniture consisting in part of two
feather beds and two bedsteads   Two Oyster beds one safe Six plain chairs, cooking utensils one
lot of plates and Knives and forks one table and the balance of House hold Furniture one canoe
one single barrel & Duck Run      To Have and To Hold all and singular the said goods
and chattels, house hold stuff and furniture above bargained and sold or mentioned and
intended so to be to the said Samuel McCready his executors administrators and assigns forever
and I the said Noah Dayton, for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, all and
singular the said goods and house hold stuff and furniture, unto the said Samuel McCready
his executors, administrators and assigns, against me the said Noah Dayton, my executors and
administrators, and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever.  Shall and will
warrant and forever defend by these presents      In witness whereof I hereunto subscribe my
name this 31st day of August in the year eighteen hundred and fifty two      his

             State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit:                          Be it remembered that
on the 31st day of August in the year Eighteen hundred and fifty two personally appeared before
me the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for the County and State aforesaid the within
named Noah Dayton party grantor in the aforegoing bill of Sale and acknowledged the same to
be his act and Deed, and delivered the same for the uses and purposes therein mentioned and
I do further Certify that I am satisfied of my own personal knowledge that the person making
the above acknowledgment is the same identical person named and described in the aforegoing
bill of Sale and professing to be the party grantor therein mentioned   and at the Same time
personally appeared before me one of the Justices aforesaid, Samuel McCready and made oath on
the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the Consideration set forth on the said bill of Sale
is true and bona fide as therein set forth said Samuel McCready being party Grantee in the
said bill of Sale

Noah J. Rawleigh         Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following
    Exd   from                Bill of Sale was received and recorded on the 14th day of September
James L. Colston         1852 to wit:
                                  Know all men by these presents that I James L. Colston of
Dorchester County in the State of Maryland for and in Consideration of the Sum of one
hundred and seventy five dollars Current money to me in hand paid by Noah J. Rawleigh
of the Same County & State ^at and before the sealing & delivery of these presents^ the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have granted bargained
& sold, & by these presents do grant bargain & sell unto the said Noah J. Rawleigh his grantors
administrators and assigns a negro woman named "Romet Parker" & her infant Child "Martha
Elizabeth"  To Have and To Hold the said herein described negro woman & her child
as Slaves for life, above bargained and sold mentioned or intended So to be, to the said Noah
J Rawleigh his executors administrators or assigns, forever and I the Said James L. Colston
