152 Sirman of Dorchester County and State aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the said John W. Brown do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained sold and delivered and by these presents do grant bargain sell and deliver unto the said Louder Serman his executors administrators and assigns a negro man named Charles (the same Charles that the said Brown purchased of Sarah B. Brown) To Have and To Hold the said negro man Charles until the first day of January in the year Eighteen hundred and Sixty eight at which time said Charles is to be free from Slavery or Servitude In testimony whereof I the said John W. Brown have hereunto set my hand and seal this 22 day of March Eighteen hundred and fifty five John W. Brown (seal) Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of Daniel Cannon Clement Harding State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit: On this 22 day of March 1855 before the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland and for Dorchester County personally appears John W. Brown he being known to me and in my presence did Sign the above bill of Sale or instrument of writing and acknowledged the Same to be his act and deed. At the Same time personally appears Louder Sirman he being known to me and made Oath on the holy evangelly of Almighty God that the Consideration therein is true and bona fide as therein set forth. In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand on the day and year aforesaid Daniel Cannon J. P. 1855 April 9.th Received of Mr. Lowder Sirman one dollar in lieu of a Stamp on this Bill of Sale F. J. Henry Clk Aaron Warfield Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the paid from xd following Bill of Sale was received and recorded on the 16.th Thomas Lambden & wife day of April in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and fifty five to wit: Know all men by these presents that we Thomas Lambden & Margaret his wife of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland for and in Consideration of the Board of James & Jane Warfield have granted bargained & sold and by these presents do grant bargain and Sell unto Aaron Warfield his executors administrators & assigns one negro girl named Milly Warfield aged nine years in September next Said negro girl to serve until she is thirty one years of age & then to be free. To Have and To Hold the Said negro girl named Milly to the Said Aaron Warfield his Executors administrators and assigns In Witness whereof we hereunto Subscribe our names & affix our seals this ninth day of April Eighteen hundred and fifty five Signed Sealed & delivered Thomas Lambdin (seal) in the presence of Margaret Lambdin (seal) W.m W.
