Maryland Dorchester County to wit:
                On the Thirtieth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and Fifty five personally appeared before me a justice of the Peace in and
for said County the within named Solomon F. Kirwan admr. of Saml. J. Meekins and acknowledged
the within bill of Sale to be his act and deed according to the purport true intent and
meaning of the same and at the same time came before me Joseph W. Meekins within mentioned
and Made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in
this bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth according to the true meaning of the
Act of assembly of 1846 chapter 271 made and provided.

1855 February 26th:  Received of Joseph W. Meekins the sum of one Dollar in lieu of a Stamp
on this Bill of Sale

George H. Meekins      Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following
    √      from   xd          Bill of Sale was received and recorded on the 26th day of February
Solomon F. Kirwan      in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and fifty five To wit:
admr. of Saml. J. Meekins         Know all men by these presents that I Solomon F. Kirwan
                                    admr. of Saml. J. Meekins of Dorchester County and State of Maryland
for and in Consideration of the Sum of Eleven hundred and Twenty five Dollars current money
to me in hand paid by George H. Meekins of Dorchester County and State of Maryland
have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto
the said George H. Meekins his heirs and assigns the following negros Ralph Moses and
one fourth of negro Isaac (sold by me the said Solomon F. Kirwan by order of the orphans
Court on the 14.th of December 1854 slaves for life.  To Have and To Hold the said negros Ralph
Moses and Isaac as above bargained and sold unto the Said George H. Meekins his heirs
executors administrators and assigns forever

                   In Testimony whereof I Solomon F. Kirwan admr. of Saml. J. Meekins
have hereto set  my hand and affixed Seal this Thirtieth day of January eighteen hundred
and fifty five                                                                  Solomon F. Kirwan   (seal)

       in the presence of
                         John W. Dean a justice of the Peace
