John R Andrews and Robert W. Andrews party grantors in the within and aforegoing
Bill of Sale and acknowledged the same to be their act and deed and delivered the for the
uses and purposes therein mentioned and on the same day before me as aforesaid personally
appeared William Mills grantee named in the aforegoing Bill of Sale and made Oath on
the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the Consideration mentioned in the aforegoing
Bill of Sale is true and Bona fide as therein set forth

Robert Meekins                  Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that the following
    √   from   xd                    Bill of Sale was received and recorded on the 26th day of February
Solomon F. Kirwan             in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and Fifty Five to wit:
admr. of Samuel J. Meekins         Know all men by these presents that I Solomon F Kirwan
                                           Admr of Saml J. Meekins of Dorchester County and State of
Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of Four hundred and Fifty dollars current
money to me in hand paid by Robert Meekins of Dorchester County and State of Maryland
have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the
said Robert Meekins his heirs and assigns the following negro Girl Emily slave for life
To Have and To Hold the said negro Girl Emily (sold by me the said Solomon F. Kirwan
by order of the orphan Court on the 14th of December 1854 as above bargained and sold unto
the said Robert Meekins his heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever

          In Testimony whereof I Solomon F. Kirwan admr. of Samuel J. Meekins have hereto
set my hand and affixed seal this Thirtieth day of January eighteen hundred and fifty
five

    in the presence of                                                   admr. of Samuel J. Meekins Decd
                   John W. Dean a Justice of the Peace
                in and for Dorchester County Md

Maryland Dorchester County to wit:
                On the Thirtieth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and fifty five personally appeared before me a Justice of the Peace in and for Said
County the within named Solomon F. Kirwan admr. Saml. J. Meekins Decd and acknowledged
the within bill of Sale to be his act and deed according to the purport true intent and meaning
of the Same and at the Same time Came before me Robert Meekins within Mentioned and made
Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the Consideration set forth in this bill of
sale is true and bona fide as therein Set forth according to the true meaning of the Act of
Assembly of 1846 Chapter 271 made and provided.
                                           Acknowledged before            John W. Dean J. P.

1855 February 26th Received of Robert Meekins the sum of one dollar in lieu of a Stamp
on this Bill of Sale
