145 the said Levin Mobray his Executors administrators and assigns against him the said Henry Smith his executors and administrators and against all and every other person and persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and defend by these presents In testimony whereof the Said Henry Smith hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first before herein within his R. R. Robertson Henry x Smith (seal) mark State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit: Be it remembered that on this 29th day of January 1855 Before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace for the State and County aforesaid personally appeared Henry Smith party grantor mentioned and acknowledged the within and aforegoing Bill of Sale to be his act and deed according to the true purport and meaning thereof and at the same time came before me Levin Mobray within mentioned and made Oath on the Holy Evangelly of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in this bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth according to the true meaning of the Act of Assembly made and provided Acknowledged and Sworn before R. R. Robertson William Mills Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following √ from xd Bill of Sale was received and recorded on the 12th day of February John R. Andrews & in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and fifty five to wit: Robert W. Andrews Know all men by these presents that we John R Andrews and Robert W. Andrews of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of Fifty dollars Current money of Maryland to us in hand paid by William Mills of the said County and State before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the said John R. Andrews and Robert W Andrews have granted Bargained and sold conveyed and transferred and by these presents do grant Bargain and Sell convey and transfer unto the said William Mills his heirs and assigns forever all their right and interest of in and to one negro girl named Jane aged five years a slave for life and now in the possession of the said William Mills To Have and To Hold the above described negro girl Jane unto the said William Mills his heirs and assigns forever and to and for no other use interest or purpose whatsoever against us the said John R Andrews and Robert W. Andrews and our heirs and against all persons whatsoever Claiming the said negro girl Jane we shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In testimony whereof the said John R. Andrews and Robert W. Andrews have hereunto subscribed their names and affixed their Seals this the fifteenth day of January Eighteen hundred and fifty five Signed sealed and John R. Andrews (seal) delivered in presence of Robt W. Andrews (seal) D. W.
