113 City of Baltimore and State aforesaid at and before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the said William Corkran ^do^ hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Henry Cook his heirs Executors administrators and assigns the following property to wit: 1 bay Horse Called "Dare Devil" 1 black mare Called "Puss" 12 Head of Cattle 1 yoke of oxen 16 Head of Hogs 1 ox Cart 3 ploughs and two Harrows and farming utensils generally and 1 four wheel Carriage which said property is now in the possession of the said Henry Cook To Have and To Hold all and singular the said mentioned property above bargained and sold or mentioned or intended so to be unto the said Henry Cook his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever In Witness Whereof I hereunto Subscribe my name and affix my seal this sixth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of William Corkran (seal) Charles Corkran State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that on this sixth day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty four personally appears before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the state of Maryland in and for Dorchester County William Corkran party grantor in the above Bill of Sale and acknowledged the SAme to be his act and deed At the same time personally appeared Henry Cook party grantee also therein named and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the Consideration mentioned in the above Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth Acknowledged and sworn to before Charles Corkran Recd May 6th 1854 of Henry Cook the sum of one dollar in lieu of a Stamp on this Bill of Sale Francis J. Henry Clk James Bibby Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill √ from xd of Sale was received and recorded on the 8.th day of May 1854 to wit: William K. Robinson Know all men by these presents that I William K. Robinson of Dorchester County and state of Maryland for and in Consideration of the Sum of six hundred dollars Current money of Maryland to me in hand paid by James Bibby of the said County and state before the ensealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the said William K. Robinson has granted Bargained and sold Conveyed and transferred and by these presents doth grant Bargain and Sell Convey and transfer unto the said James Bibby his heirs and assigns. One negro man named Henry aged forty years or thereabouts a slave to serve for the period of Eight years or to year Eighteen Hundred and Sixty Five then the said Henry to be free and discharged from all servitude or service to the said James Bibby his heirs and assigns or to the said William K. Robinson his heirs and assigns To Have and To Hold the above described negro man Henry unto the said James Bibby his heirs and assigns and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever against me the said William K. Robinson and against my heirs and against all persons whatsoever Claiming the said negro man Henry unto the said James Bibby his heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Testimony whereof the said William K. Robinson has hereunto Subscribed his name and affixed his seal this the third day of May in the year Eighteen hundred and fifty four Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of William K.
