State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit:      On this eleventh day of April in the year
of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and fifty four personally appeared before me the Subscriber a Justice of
the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for Dorchester County aforesaid Abraham Newman party
bargainor mentioned in the aforegoing within Bill of Sale or instrument of writing and acknowledged
the Same to be his act and deed and the property therein mentioned to be the property of the said Morris
Newman party bargainee also therein named               Acknowledged before         Charles Corkran J. P.

    State of Maryland Baltimore City to wit  On this Fifteenth day of April Eighteen Hundred
and Fifty four personally appeared before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland
in and for Baltimore City aforesaid Morris Newman the party Bargainee in the said Bill of Sale named
and made Oath that the Consideration set forth in the said Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as
therein set forth      Sworn before                                                R. A. McAllister

                      I hereby Certify that Robert A. McAllister Esquire before whom the annexed affidavit
was made and who has thereto Subscribed his name was at the time of so doing a Justice of the Peace
of the State of Maryland in and for the City of Baltimore duly Commissioned and Sworn.

Edward Street      Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following
paid from  xd        Power of Attorney and Bill of Sale was received and recorded on the
Gabriel P. Lake    19th day of April 1854 to wit:
                                                       Grenada Feby 21st 1854

                Know all men by these presents that I William Lake of Grenada County
of Yalabusha and State of Mississippi by virtue of the authority to me given by the
within power of attorney doe substitute Gabriel P. Lake of the County of Dorchester and
State of Maryland as attorney in my stead to do perform and execute every act and thing
which I might or Could do by virtue of the within power of attorney hereby ratifying
and Confirming all that the said Substitute may doe in the premises by virtue hereof
and of the within power of attorney      in witness whereof I set my hand and seal the

                                                 I recd your Kind letter of the 2d ulb in relation to an offer
you had for Rachel $125 if you Cannot get any more take this but try and get $150
if posable just ½ what she Cost me I have sent you a power of attorney to act for

             Know all men by these presents that I Gabriel P. Lake of Dorchester
County and State of Maryland for and in Consideration of the Sum of One
