101 of February in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and fifty four, before the subscribers, two Justices of the peace of the state of Maryland in and for the County of Dorchester aforesaid, personally appear Alexander R Anderson and Amanda Anderson his wife they being known to us to be the persons who are named and described as and professing to be the parties to the foregoing Bill of Sale or instrument and do severally acknowledge the said indenture or instrument of writing to be their respective act or deed the said Amanda Anderson having signed and sealed said indenture before us out of the presence and hearing of her ^husband and the said Amanda Anderson being by us examined out of the presence and hearing of her^ said husband whether she doth grant and acknowledge the same freely and voluntarily and without being induced to do so by fear or threats of or ill usage by her husband or by fear of his displeasure" declareth and saith that she doth. In testimony whereof we hereunto subscribe our names on the day and year aforesaid John D. Stevens J. P. February the 25th 1854 Received the 13th day of March 1834 of John Baker the sum of one Dollar in lieu of a Stamp on this Bill of Sale F. J. Henry Clk Jeremiah Stull Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill of paid from Sale was received and recorded on the 16th day of March 1834 to wit David D. Barber Whereas I David D. Barber of Kent County and State of Delaware have purchased of Jeremiah Stull of the City of Trenton and State of New Jersey all that Steam Saw mill and fixtures hereinafter particularly mentioned and described situated in Queen Annes County and State of Maryland and now in the possession of the said Jeremiah Stull at and for the sum of three thousand five hundred Dollars five hundred of which Sum hath been paid in Cash and for the balance of which I the Said David D. Barber have given my three notes with security for one thousand dollars each payable in four six and nine months from the date of the said notes and whereas also the Said David D. Barber for the more effecutally securing the payment of the Said notes as they become due is willing to execute this Bill of Sale of the said Mill and fixtures unto the said Jeremiah Stull; Now therefore Know all men by these presents that I the said David D. Baler for and in Consideration of the premises and in further Consideration of the Sum of one dollar Current money to me in hand paid by the said Jeremiah Stull at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents, do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Jeremiah Stull his heirs, executors and administrators all that Saw Mill and fixtures situated in Queen Annes County aforesaid and Consisting of the following articles to wit: three boilers each forty feet long and thirty inches in diameter with iron front to furnace one engine of thirty inches stroke and fourteen inch bow with shafting, fly wheel, pumps and all the machinery attached to the said engine one main wrought iron shaft about sixteen feet long and four inches in diameter one wrought iron shaft about eight feet long and four inches in diameter three large driving pulleys seven feet in diameter one gang Saw gate Cost iron pulley with two Crank wheels and double Crank belonging to the gang Mill with twelve Saws and fixtures for the Same including fender posts guides and so forth; one Carriage belonging to the gang mill in two Sections, making the same seventy five feet long with post works ratchet wheels shafting belonging |
