CHARTER AMENDMENT RESOLUTION

NO. 2002-1

A RESOLUTION CONCERNING:

Charter of the Town of Mount Airy

FOR THE PURPOSE OF amending Section C12-5 B. of the Charter of the Town of
Mount Airy by authorizing any police officer, any member of the Town Council or any
designated member of the Town staff to be among those authorized to issue citations
and to enact a new Subsection C12-5 C. authorizing said persons to issue citations for
other ordinances or parking violations for prosecution in the District Court of
Maryland.

[Section C12-5 B. of the Charter of the Town of Mount Airy, Carroll County, as
found in the Public Local Laws of Maryland - Compilation of Municipal Charters
(1990 Replacement Edition and 2003 Supplement), repealed and reenacted, with
amendments.

Section C12-5 C. of the Charter of the Town of Mount Airy, Carroll County, as
found in the Public Local Laws of Maryland - Compilation of Municipal Charters
(1990 Replacement Edition and 2003 Supplement), added.

A RESOLUTION CONCERNING:

Charter of the Town of Mount Airy

FOR THE PURPOSE OF amending Section C1-2 of the Charter of the Town of Mount
Airy by deleting the from the Charter the lengthy and voluminous delineation of the
Town boundaries by specific metes, bounds, courses and distances adopting in its
place a new section C1-2 adopting by reference a master listing of the corporate
boundaries of the Town maintained at the Town Hall by both a) metes, bounds,
courses and distances and b) maps delineating the corporate limits of the Town.
