MUNICIPAL CHARTERS
TAKE OFFICE; AMENDING SECTIONS 29 AND 30 TO DELETE DUPLICATIVE
REFERENCES TO TWO-YEAR TERMS FOR MAYOR AND COUNCILMEMBERS,
RESPECTIVELY; AND AMENDING SECTIONS 29 AND 30 TO PROVIDE THAT
AFTER THE ELECTION IN APRIL 2002, ELECTIONS FOR THE MAYOR AND
COUNCILMEMBERS SHALL OCCUR ON THE FIRST TUESDAY AFTER THE
FIRST MONDAY IN NOVEMBER IN ODD NUMBERED YEARS BEGINNING IN
2005.

AMENDED RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOWIE,
MARYLAND AMENDING SECTION 4, "QUALIFICATIONS OF
COUNCILMEMBERS" OF THE CITY CHARTER TO PROHIBIT PERSONS FROM
SERVICE AS COUNCILMEMBERS WHO HAVE BEEN CONVICTED OF A
FELONY OR A CERTAIN MISDEMEANORS INVOLVING A CRIME OF
VIOLENCE.
