Charters (1990 Replacement Edition and 2000 Supplement), repealed and reenacted,
with amendments.

Resolution No: 2002-04
WHEREAS, Article VII, Section 702 of the Charter of the Town of Kensington
has limitations of content that hinder the ability of the Town to carry out its
mandated functions;
WHEREAS, the Charter amendment to Article VII, Section 702 has been
developed by the Council to improve the governance of the Town;
WHEREAS, Article VII, Section 702 is being amended to delete the following
sentence, "[Not more than then two of the three supervisors of elections shall be
members of the same political party.]"

WHEREAS, Article VII, Section 707 of the Charter of the Town of Kensington
has limitations of content that hinder the ability of the Town to carry out its
mandated functions;
WHEREAS, the Charter amendment to Article VII, Section 707 has been
developed by the Council to improve the governance of the Town;
WHEREAS, Article VII, Section 707 is being amended to change the day that
Town registration books are closed from the last Monday in May prior to the Town
election to the last Tuesday in May prior to the Town election ("Town registration
books shall be closed on the last [Monday] TUESDAY in May prior to the Town
election.");
